Burleigh Hill School Council

At Burleigh Hill Public School, we believe that parents are important and make a real difference to children's learning. When parents are involved children do better and achieve more. School Council allows everyone involved in school life - parents, learners, teachers, school staff and the wider community to work together to support the school. It also allows all parents to have a say in their children's education by affording the opportunity to express their views and ideas.

Purpose and Objectives:

The school council is an advisory body. The Council may provide advice to the school principal, and where appropriate, on any of the matters listed below, that the Council identifies as priorities.

  • local school year calendar of fund-raising events
  • yearly review of the school code of student conduct
  • development and review of a new constitution
  • methods of reporting to and communicating with parents and the community
